Hello Everyone, so the first couple of days have been slow and relaxing, everyone is unwinding and catching up on sleep. After classes on Friday I wandered around campus and really enjoyed how beautiful Unitec is. I found a stadium that's mostly giant stone steps, which I sat on and got some writing done. After that Katherine and I relaxed and watched some of her Supernatural episodes, which was fun. I feel like we've been going going going all the time, it's nice to have a few hours to relax and let a few brain cells turn to mush in front of the T.V :)
Saturday we had a beach trip to Piha, which is potentially one of the most dangerous beaches (to swim or surf at) in the world. It was a black sand beach and when we first got there a group of us went on hike to see a waterfall. The hike was so pretty and I was happy to find that I wasn't sweating through my clothing due to the fact that New Zealand is a lot chillier than in Australia. I wore pants the other day! The waterfall was beautiful, and Alec and I wandered around and found another waterfall over a huge drop off. It was really amazing to see, standing at the top of this amazing force. After we got back from the hike, we went to the beach and Alec and I climbed all over this giant rock outcrop. That was really fun and cool, it felt like really rock climbing. I did bang my shoulder and my head though; I was really concerned that I had a concussion so I ended up trying to stay awake until two am just in case. Alec and I tried to watch Casino Royale to keep me awake, but it didn't work because I fell asleep not even half way through.
Last night (before Casino Royale) was the Chinese New Years Eve, and since JD is Chinese, we all went out to celebrate and had delicious Chinese food, in a really authentic restaurant. It was really fun.
This morning Alec, Cassie, Katherine, and I made hash browns, pancakes and eggs for breakfast. It was a feast! It's nice to be able to make food for ourselves now. Today we are going food shopping again, but other than that we are just having a lazy day. Everyone didn't wake up until around ten or eleven and I only showered around one. So very lazy :)
